SMSZombie.A Removal Instructions

TrustGo Security Labs has recently identified a new virus that can take control of mobile payments and cause unauthorized expenditures on your mobile bill. Currently, the only way to ensure that your mobile device is not infected by this new and aggressive virus, you must install TrustGo Mobile Security and run the Security Scanner.


NOTE: The following instructions are for devices that have not been "rooted". If your Android device has been "rooted", please contact team@trustgo.com for instructions.
 
Removal Instructions for Android 2.x devices:
  1. Go to System Settings >> Location and Security >> Select Device Administrators
    • NOTE: If performing this step immediately brings you back to your device's Home screen, press and hold your device's Home button to bring up a list of recent opened apps and re-select Settings
  2. Remove "Android System Service" as device administrator

  3. Go to System Settings >> Applications >> Manage Applications >> Android System Service
  4. Choose "Uninstall"

    • NOTE: If performing this step immediately brings you back to your device's Home screen, press and hold your device's Home button to bring up a list of recent opened apps and re-select Settings
    • Select Uninstall Again
Removal Instructions for Android 3.x & 4.x devices:
  1. Go to System Settings >> Security >> Select Device Administrators
    • NOTE: If performing this step immediately brings you back to your device's Home screen, press and hold your device's Home button to bring up a list of recent opened apps and re-select Settings
  2. Remove "Android System Service" as device administrator

  4. Choose "Uninstall"
